Seminaari la 4.3. klo 10-18 Helsingissä on osa pohjoismaisten järjestöjen yhteistyötapaamista, joka pidetään 4.-5.3. 2017. Vieraita on Islannista, Norjasta, Ruotsista ja Tanskasta, ja tapahtuman suomalaisina järjestäjinä ovat Humanistiliitto ja Vapaa-ajattelijain liitto.

NORDIC VIEWS ON FREEDOM OF RELIGION AND THOUGHT ON 4th OF MARCH 2017 in Helsinki, Kaisaniemenkatu 9.

The Seminar programme on Saturday at 10:00 to 18:00, open to all (in English):

Theme: The Nordic Countries

· The Nordic model and Nordic cooperation, Member of Parliament Erkki Tuomioja, PhD
· Presentations by the humanist associations on freedom of religion, followed by comments, approx. 10min/country
· Current issues from the European Humanist Federation (EHF), Julie Pernet, Policy Officer
· The process behind the Nordic Humanist Manifesto, Arnfinn Pettersen, HEF

LUNCH 13:00-14:00, at own expence

Theme: Children, youth and freedom of religion
· The rights of secular children, Kari Hännikäinen
· The teaching of the subject life stance in schools , Satu Elo, Finnish National Board of Education

COFFEE 15:00-15:30, free for all

· Democracy education, Tuomas Kurttila, the ombudsman for children
· The power of democracy and threats against democracy, Karin Creutz, Doctoral researcher
· Prometheus camps in Finland (confirmation in the other Nordic countries), Aatu Komsi, chairman

The seminar is held at the Nordic Culture Point (Nordisk kulturkontakt), Ting-salen, which is located at Kaisaniemenkatu 9.
